3rd day of PX upgrading and Tracker System

Today - thursday 08/03/07

RSF
Testing the fail over services between aserver and bserver, however encountered the error that unable to mount the target volume (/usr/MSLpexp/bservr) on aserver due to
1) veritas could not import and deport mount volume aserverdg group and vice versa on bserverdg
2) also encountered the error of aserverdg and bserverdg group volume name not inside the files diskgroup.aserver and diskgroup.bserver
3) on S50program in rc.aserver.d and rc.bserver.d must pust the respective server aserver and bserver.

Samba
1) on both server aserver and bserver ready with samba. on bserver all share folders already created, done. tomorrow continue create the share folders on aserver that all need to change supervisor mode to 777 on each folder.

Tracker (new release)
1) Install px tracker application on tracker server.
2) tidy up configs on px2745 that no more bserver2 config for page_pairer, plans and planner. that changed to bserver, it is to easy to manage and customize the configs.
3) Connection between tracker server and px established after alter the px config above.
4) on bitmap spooler run must using rpoduct to suitable with tracker and web softproof.
5) testing 2 pages on HM publication, so far running smooth and go thru to tracker.

Planning for tomorrow - customise the px and tracker queue that to be used.

2nd day of PX upgrading

Today 7/03/07 - Wednesday

-Today is very tough work to bring up the HBA and RSF-1 services on both px1 and px2. It's puzzle us the config file that very confusing which need to carefully observe the value setting.
-The error displayed that could not bring up the mount point (/usr/MSLpexp/aserver) from veritas volume. and all scripts shutdown the services
-Found the problem due to disksets.aserver and diskgroup.aserver must allocate in /opt/HAC/RSF-1/etc/fs.
-im a hero of the day that can solve the problem. David still in blur
-Planning for tomorrow - fine tuning the RSF and installing the tracker application on tracker server

Print Express upgrading

David Deaville IPA UK arrived at NSTP around 10.15am.

Jobs done
1) Install new Print Express ver 2745 on both new server V490.
2) Created virtual host as aserver and bserver. Using command ifconfig plumb and ifconfig ip ... broadcast on both server.
3) Hostname on both servers are px1 and px2.
4) Copy/flow the configs from old px2711 and running smooth except page_pairer that need to split to two services planner and pairer. Run scripts from /opt/MSLpexp/perllib/correct_pairer_to2724.pl and upgrade_pairer_to_2750.pl (perl script). Successfuly done.
5) Flow the config automatically from aserver to bserver. Updated
6) Testing on all services and running smooth.
7) Planning for tomorrow is installing the RSF-1 (High Avaibility) on both server with David
